PC12/47 Voyager Flows
Introduction
This document describes operation of the aircraft mimicking real operations as accurately as possible. They were collected using various sources online and filtered to keep the information coming from real pilots only.
Memory Flows
Most turbines are flown by following flows which are all from memory and using checklist to check that nothing was forgotten at the end of the flow.
These are available in various places and some online videos. I prefer text to glance over a text to refresh my memory. Going back to lengthy video just as a refresher is suboptimal.
Receiving Flow
Perform before passengers arrive. You will scan most thing from left to right then to the overhead panel.
- Check that circuit breakers on left side are in.
- Mask mic swich in mic position.
- Make sure parking brake is in. (IRL you need to apply break on the pedals and lock it with the parking brake, generally not simulated).
- ELT in armed position.
- EFIS switch in norm.
- EPS to test, validate that the green light is on. After 5s set to ARMED. Verify yellow light is on.
- AHRS swithes all to slave.
- Gear handle in down position.
- Oxygen to on.
- Trim interrupt switches to NORM.
- Alternate stab trim to center postition (nose).
- Manual override should be stowed.
- PCL (power control) to idle
- Condition lever to feather/cut-off position
- Cabin lights to off except maybe for cabin reading light if you have passengers.
- Emergency fuel and ECS (back of the center pedestal) are flush.
- ECS to off.
- Cabin pressure dump to auto and guarded
- Tempearture as desired
- Manual temp switch to center position and guarded.
- Cabin pressure control switch to cruise altitude + 500ft.
- Cabin rate of climb to the 12oclock position.
- Copilot EFIS to norm
- Copilot mic/mask switch to mic.
- Copilot breaker switches in.
- Battery 1 and 2 on.
- Check voltage above 24V
- Nav lights on. (they're usually always left on)
- Push and hold the "test lamp" button, validate all the cockpit lights are on.
- Press the fire test button. Validate master warning and aural fire.
- Hit RH fuel pump. Validate Gren rh fuel pump CAWS message and hear pump sound. Back to auto.
- Same with LH fuel pump.
- Ignition to auto.
- Gen 1 and 2 off.
- External power off unless we have a gpu connected.
- Avionics buses off.
- Non essential override in auto.
- Switch inverter. Gen1 or batt inverter work the same way. They are used alternatively for each flight to even the wear.
- Turn on the standby bus to preprogram the avionics. This should power com1 and nav1.
- Master power switch should be on and guarded. This only goes off in emergency to kill electricity in the airplane to prevent fires.
- De-icing boots and prop are off.
- Intert sep open.
- LH and RH windshield on light, then off.
- Probe heat off.
- Cooling system off, but you can preselect how you want it.
- Turn on no smoking and seatbelt signs.
- Cabin heat is off.
Run Preflight Inspection checklist.
Before Start Flow
This is run after passengers and luggage are loaded in. Chocks pulled, door closed.
- Seat belt fasten.
- Shoulder harnesses are on.
- Adjust pedal position.
On the Engine Indicating System (EIS):
- Press test, validate all the lights turn on
- Press and hold fuel reset button to reset the fuel totalizer
- Check you have enough fuel on board
- Check the fuel balance (less than 3 lcd bars of difference)
- Check caws for door open message.
- Test oxygen flow on the mask.
- Make sure switch for passenger oxygen to auto.
- Check batteries have more than 24V.
- Turn beacon on.
Run the before start checklist.
- Shout "clear prop".
- Engine start procedure. If anything is not as below, release starter button and move condition lever to cut-off/feather.
- Press starter button for 2s to engage the starter. Keep your finger near "starter interrupt" button during all this procedure in case you need to stop the starter.
- Check Oil pressure rising.
- Check ITT is below 150 before introducing fuel
- Check propeller turning
- At 30% NG at least, move condition lever to ground idle. (if that's not the case, that's called a hung start)
- The higher the NG before you introduce the fuel, the better for the engine.
- Check fuel flow is 80FL/H
- Check ITT is not rising faster than normal. (if that's not the case, that's called a hot start)
- When NG reaches 50% starter should cut out automatically.
- ITT should stabilize, NG stabiliazes at 63%
Good start!
After start/before taxi flow
- Gen2 on, wait a few secs
- Gen1 s on.
- Avionics 1 and 2 on.
- Standby bus switch off.
- Turn on cooling system.
- Turn on heating if you want
- ECS to auto
- Flaps 15
- Reset the fuel totalizer.
- Make sure gens are showing 28V
- Autopilot test.
- Perform pusher test
- Press the pusher button.
- Make sure you have 3.7psi torque
- Flaps should still be at 15
- the stick pusher should activate.
- Press the red pusher button on the yoke
- The PUSHER CAWS warning should be off.
- Check flight controls.
- Check fuel cap visually on the wing.
- Set altitude on the preselector
- Hit Go around button on the PCL. The flight director bars should appear at 10deg pitch.

- Make sure the cdi is on GPS my hitting the nav selector button
- Set heading bug on course.
- Set altimeter setting. Validate you're indicating near airport elevation.
- Initialize avionics.
Run after start/before taxi checklist.
Taxi flow
- Parking brake off
- Taxi light on
- Look around
- TA/RA as required (if available)
Run the taxi checklist
- Probe heat on
- Windshield heat left and right on low
- Check CAWS clear
Run the before take off checklist
Take off
- Condition lever to flight idle
- Landing lights
- FD- TO/GA
- TO power slowly to take off torque, right below the red line
- Check engine indicators all green
- Check airspeed alive
- At 80 kts lift off
- positive rate- gear up
- YD on
- Taxi and landing lights off
- 400 feet AGL and above 100kts: Flaps up
- Vy to 1000ft agl
- Separator closed
- Set climb power 36.9 psi. (with pax and pending ATC we set 1000-1200 fpm).
- 150 to 18000ft, then 140 between 18000 and 22000; 130 above 22000.

- we keep that climb rate till we either
- get high enough where my KIAS hits 150-160, then i hit IAS mode. (usually happens near FL 190)
- we hit our altitude. (keep below 750 ITT while climbing)
- we let the plane speed up a bit on whatever power setting you had to climb.
- Run Our cruise checklist.
- Set power using the max performance chart.
Approach flow
- Gear down and flaps 15 at the same time.
- AP disconnect (keep
ydyaw damper untilshotshort final) - Slow down to white arc
- Flaps 30 (flaps 40 is only for short fields)
Run the before landing checklist
- Aim for 80kts
- On short final, yaw damper off
TODO pic of AOA pointer and donut- Check that gear as many time as you'd like, but at least 3 times.
- PCL goes back to idle and go into the flare above the numbers
- Condition lever to ground idle
- Reverse
- Out of reverse thrust by 40kts
- Once out of the runway
- Flaps up
- Strobes off
- Recogs off
- Landing lights off
- Taxi lights on
- TCAS standby
- Reset trims
- Probe heat off
- Windshield heat off (left and right)
Run the after landing checklist
You need 2 minutes cooldown for the engine before shutting off.
- oxygen off
- ECS off
- avionics off
- cooling system off
- gen 1 and 2 off
- condition lever to off.
